What is Waxing & How is it done?

Waxing is a non-permanent hair removal method from the root using a soft strip wax, hard film or sugar wax.  New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for three to six weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being on a different human hair growth cycle.  The skin is prepped by cleansing the area first and then applying a small amount of jasmine or tea tree oil to protect the skin during the wax treatment and followed up with a after wax refreshing gel.  Made with soothing plant extracts, this gel soothes, cools and refreshes the skin.  This will aid in the healing of skin irritation and inflammation.  All while increasing moisture to treat dry or damaged skin.

Strip Wax: Soft wax is the most well-known type. The product is used with cloth to remove hair. This method is loved because it's quick, but painless...not so much. It's the ideal option for removing hair from large areas, like legs and arms.

Hard Film Wax: This type of wax is smeared on in thick patches and removed without the use of cloth. The wax cools and hardens around hair.  This method is good for waxing intimate areas, bikini line, or underarms and if you have coarse or thick hair, and tends to hurt less.

Sugar Waxing: If you prefer an organic approach to hair removal or have sensitive skin, this should be your method of choice.  The mixture is a combination of sugar, lemon juice, and water.  Because it's all-natural, this wax is more gentle on the skin, and it can be used cold (no burning) or heated and used as a strip wax. This sweet recipe also doesn't adhere to the skin—only to hair—so pain is minimized.
